Fatal error when trying to add "links" to widgets

  • When I click on “Widgets” and select “Links” and drag it to the “Sidebar1” menu, it shows up normally for a second and then it refreshes to this text:

    “Fatal error: Call to undefined function auth_redirect() in D:\Hosting\6598741\html\main\wp-admin\admin.php on line 56”

    I’ve tried reuploading the file (admin.php) from scratch, re-installing WordPress (which it never lets me do online, it gets hung up on the second step) and changing themes, and the problem continues.

    I already have “Pages” on my widgets which works fine, but if i click the arrow next to it for the dropdown, it gives me a similar error.
