• I am getting a fatal error when activating on a WP multi-site.

    Error reads:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Warning: include_once(non_pope/class.nextgen_shortcode_manager.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/vhosts/x9realtime.coxgp.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php on line 119

I have deactivated all plugins and I still get the same error.

I can’t even activate… Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

  • BrittanyLea, try to upload all Nextgen files via FTP and/or update your file permissions from provider’s cp.
Keep Nextgen deactivated when you upload the files.

Thanks for the reply Tizz! I had uploaded them via FTP and then went to the backend of my site to activate…. With no success.

I updated the permissions on the file to 777 and still got the same fatal error. ??

@brittanylea – Can you check to make sure the file was actually uploaded to your server … also, is there a reason you are unable to install and activate the NextGEN Gallery plugin from the WordPress Plugins > Add New interface?

@brittanylea Oops, sorry, I didn’t pay too much attention to “no such file or directory” and the new installation, so in this case I should have said that an automatic upload from backend should avoid the risk of putting the files in the wrong place.
    Another small addition:
As for permissions, 777 on some servers is equal to 0, so you should check if your provider provides a tool in the control panel to restore them in the right way all at once.

@cais – No particular reason I am using https://FTP.. I just always do it that way. However, I did upload through the backend and successfully installed the plugin. HOWEVER, once I try to create a gallery and add pictures, I am having problems…

The screen shots below should show the process…

Create new gallery – enter gallery name, drag & drop photos and click ‘Start Upload’…. Shows all photos are uploading — https://grab.by/s04y

I then receive a notification that upload is complete but it says there are 0 successfully uploaded image… in black box upper right hand corner — https://grab.by/s04O

When I go to view ‘manage galleries’ I have a new gallery for the number of images uploaded…. Not one gallery containing all of the images — https://grab.by/s056

Before I realized this was happening, I had uploaded a large amount of images…. I have attempted this several times and I get the same result each time. As you will see in the last screenshot, there are now 96 galleries that have been created due to it creating a new gallery for every image uploaded.

Hopefully you can help… Thanks in advance!!
