    Hi,

    I just updated the wordpress version to the latest version (I didn’t notice the version) from my cpanel. Previously, I have updated the blog to the latest version from my admin page.

    After updating the version from my cpanel, I got this message when I went to my homepage and my admin page login.

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_embed_register_handler() in /home2/timeaswi/public_html/wp-includes/default-embeds.php on line 33

    What should I do?
    I would really appreciate if you could provide step by step instruction for me since I’m a total beginner for wordpress.

    Many thanks for your help.

    Try re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Plumberscode,

    I had the same exact same issue and here’s how I was able to fix it. Go to public_html/wp-includes/default-embeds.php on your server and hide line 33 and any other line that gives an error after that by using

    /** hide */

    After you that, go back to your wordpress admin login page and it will ask you to upgrade your database. After you upgrade, the hidden function should be fixed
