I am trying very hard to switch hosts. From hostIcan to crazydomains.

I have so far, uploaded a full back up.
Uploaded my old database. Both via FTP and via MyPhpAdmin.
My name server is pointed at the right place.

But I am getting these two error messages and don’t know what they mean or how to fix them.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_multisite() in /home/discover/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 505

Warning: require_once(/home/discover/public_HTML/wp-includes/wp-db.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/discover/public_HTML/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3089

I am VERY inexperienced here. I have very little idea what I am doing and getting this far has been largely trial and error.

I am getting very little support from my new hosts and I am getting told by my old that they are about to delete discoverboo.com from their server’s because my account is now over due (on purpose, since I am changing)

Getting a little concerned I will lose the last three years of my families life.

    Could you please help me!?

re upload your WordPress files, looks like some of them may not have uploaded correctly. If you are using the latest version of WordPress then I’d also suggest you download a fresh copy and upload that.

Well when we installed a fresh version of wordpress it went to that first ever page (welcome to your site, please start editing now) and then when we uploaded my public_html from the OLD host it went hay wire.

So what part of my public html do I need to upload just to get my posts back??

I don’t care if I have to redo everything for wordpress (as in reformat my web site). As long as I don’t lose my posts I am happy.

I did have 2.7. I haven’t bothered with an updated version for ages.

I read the link you gave me and for what I am doing it says that if I am moving server’s but NOT changing domain names then all I need to do is edit my wp-config.php

I follwed the directions best I could but it still comes up saying I need the file. I must be doing something wrong and I don’t know what!?

    Any idea’s??

Well when we installed a fresh version of wordpress

did you install the latest version of WordPress? You need to install the same version that you had on the old server.

Am I still able to download that version??

I have it now so I have wordpress installed. I have another post up now about trying to recover the posts/comments through FTP or sql file because I didn’t know about the import function through wordpress.
