• Fatal error: Cannot redeclare sydney_set_after_import_mods()

I have received the above following error, and as a result my website is down. I have been prompted to check my admin email, but have yet to find anything. Is it possible to check my website’s admin email and change it? Alternatively is there a fix to the above error?

  • Hi @swapcup ,

It seems to be an error from a Sydney theme that you are using. Maybe, you tried to install some demo importer plugin for the theme and as soon as you activated the plugin, you started getting this error.

Please delete the recently added plugin from wp-content/plugins folder via cPanel file browser or FTP.

Then try again. Your fatal error should have gone.

You’ll need to disable that Sydney theme by renaming it… I just use FTP or my webhosts file manager to add the numbers ‘1234’ to the file name.

That should pickup on any default theme you have installed or you might need to FTP a default theme like Twenty Thirteen (my favorite default theme) to get in there and fix things.

If you have the Pro version of Sydney you might ask them (Athemes) for help. Else try the Sydney theme support forum or delete the theme and reinstall it.
