    Hi,

An auto update failed on website causing a critical error. I don’t know what was being updated on the clients website.

When I put the website into debug the log showed
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘WPSEO_Utils’ not found in /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/lib/abstract-main.php:164

I renamed the Yoast SEO folder to get the website back up.

I’ve updated the plugins and themes. I renamed the Yoast SEO folder back and tried to activate it.
When trying to activate it the following error occurs:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Warning: include(/home/xxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/vendor/composer/../../inc/class-addon-manager.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpforms-lite/vendor/composer/ClassLoader.php on line 444

Please can you let me know how to sort out this issue.

    Thanks,
    Karen

    Hello Karen,

I’m sorry about the fatal error you experienced during the update and I’m glad you got the site back up!

Most often, these update-related errors occur either due to an outdated WordPress version or a conflict with a site theme or plugin. Assuming your WordPress version is up-to-date, the next step would be to run a?conflict check. But before that, can you confirm if you have Yoast SEO addons and if they’re updated?

    WP 6.1.1
    PHP 7.4

Divi social sharing buttons plugin is outdated at 2.0.2 and my client will be renewing the licence.
Divi theme is outdated at 4.14.8 and once again my client is checking the licence.

All other plugins have been updated and this plugin still won’t activate.

This is a new clients website so I’m not that familiar with their website.
How can I tell if there are Yoast SEO addons if I can’t activate the plugin now?
