Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_user_attribute() in /wp-content/plugins/storify/storify.php on line 990

It didn’t work with Chrome and now this on another site. I’ve decided not to use this plugin. But, may try it again. It did look very good.

  • I got this same error with Storify. It looks like they did some kind of update last night. It caused problems for me to log into my dashboard and I needed hostgator to remove it. Storify/Livefrye has not responded to my support ticket. I have deactivated the plugin…but I really hope they fix their issue because I have about 5 stories currently in my blog list that are not working and another 5 articles I was wanting to post for this next week.

Has anyone else had this problem in the last day?

Exact same problem here. Had to deactivate Storify plugin to get to different self-hosted WP blogs. May reinstall previous version.

Yep, seeing this in a site too, looks like a function ‘get_user_attribute()’ is expected in the plugin file. This isn’t a standard WordPress function so it looks like a plugin file hasn’t been updated correctly or is missing a file.

1.0.7 update breaks the admin area….I’ve downgraded back to 1.0.6 until the issue is resolved.

    Hello everyone

A minor update went out days ago, but unfortunately we’re unable to reproduce the issues described here on any of the available setups we have.

With so many WordPress versions and custom setup possibilities, our team would love to try try and troubleshoot this and fix it as soon as possible. Would any of you be able to send the following information to our Support team (the direct email is support[at]storify[dot]com?

    – The version of WordPress you’re currently using
    – The step taken after updating the plugin to see the issue(s) described

Our Support team is standing by now to receive any messages via support[at]storify[dot]com and work with the info related to specific WordPress setups to try and find a fix as quickly as possible – thank you for anything you can provide!

I just send my error code to the Storify support desk via the e-mail above.

I sent an email as well. I am using most up-to-date version of WP. I am currently using storify embedded instead of the plugin. I hope the plugin can be fixed because it was a nice feature.

Hi all! Thanks for the followup messages to our team today.

Version 1.0.9 of the plugin was released just now to address the issue we heard about. We suggest trying to update to this version now to fix it. If seeing any other issues with your custom setup after updating to 1.0.9, please contact support[at]storify[dot]com anytime with your version of WordPress, the error you’re seeing and the basic steps you took before encountering it.

Hope this helps, and thanks again!

And if we can’t update the plugin because we can’t get into our admin dashboard?

@tcolmstead If you are working on a site you don’t have admin for, get someone who does have admin access.

Or, if you can’t access admin due to an error – go through FTP and remove the plugin. Then download the new version, fresh. Your web host should be able to give you FTP access if you don’t already know how to use that.
