Fatal Error- Uninstall WordPress instead of finding files
-
Hello! I would first like to say, I am really new to WordPress, **and I can’t remember what version I have downloaded on my laptop (which is my original download) but I just downloaded version 3.2 on a new computer and might want to uninstall the old version and reinstall WP with the new version on the other computer** so with that in mind…
I have been working on my site for some time, and when I got to the point when I needed to add taxonomies, I tried to, and it didn’t work out the way I thought it would. Long story short, I went from having the “Cannot Modify Header” to “Fatal Error: ……. public_html/wp-includes/load.php on line 337″ to ” “Fatal Error:…… wp-content/plugins/role-scoper/scoped-user_anon.php on line 31”
I have read that in order to fix the “Cannot Modify Header” issue I just need to open the file and delete a few things (I know this is very broad but I figured if you need more information on that topic you can search for it, and I would keep my experiences short, if that ends up not being sufficient I can post more details as needed). I tried that and it didn’t work then I got the last two “Fatal Error…” messages, and I thought I would just uninstall then reinstall WP.
I am using BlueHost, and I know that you can look through all the files with the file manager, but what I am wondering is, is there a way to uninstall then reinstall WP without losing all the information I have already put into my site?
Or instead of uninstalling/reinstalling WP should I just look for and replace all the effected files?
Any help would be greatly appreciated ??
