    BackWPup completely broken after upgrades:

    I deactivated all plug-ins, then updgraded:
    WP to 3.5.2 (from 3.4.2 something)
    BackWPup 3.0.6 (from 2.something)
    The theme (Kaptinlin: Striking) to latest version (as recommended with this version of WP)
    and reactivated the plugins.

    BackWP now fails with these errors:

    Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 990 is not allowed to access /tmp owned by uid 0 in /home/propozit/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/inc/class-admin.php on line 250

    Fatal error: session_start() [<a href='function.session-start'>function.session-start</a>]: Failed to initialize storage module: files (path: ) in /home/propozit/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/inc/class-admin.php on line 250

    I’ve not made any other changes. I have tried deactivating all other plugins, but this made no difference.

    Any idea how I can get it working again?

    Thanks in advance.

    Solved:

    Added:
    safe_mode = Off
    to php.ini in public_html

    as advised by hosting support.

    Not sure if the hosting service (justhostme) changed something or whether this is a requirement because I updated to BackWPup 3.0.6

    Hi ;

    safe_mode = Off
    to php.ini in public_html

    works after

    the 1 st installation does not work with the same Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. …..
