  • You would need to use ftp or your host’s file manager software.

Thanks lorro for the solution. It is an easy fix by FTP.

abbyd, post back if you have any problems.

    Good luck!

Can someone walk me through this? I don’t use FTP. I use Go daddy’s hosted WP platform. I’m new to FTP. I need someone to list the steps as simple as possible. Please please help.thx

Sweet! I’d like to know more about this file. Where it came from? Why it crashed a whole site? How may I be able to prepare or avoid this in the future.

    Thanks again for the solution.

GoDaddy support can assist you in understanding how to manage the files on your server.

Log in to the management area, click file manager, click public_html, etc.

Thanks IRS Compliance! I’ll try that route!

My site is hosted with GoDaddy. Deleting the 2 files as suggested via FTP worked for me!!

    wp-content/uploads/GeoIP.dat
    wp-content/uploads/GeoIPv6.dat

My WooCommerce Products are now up and running again.

Thanks for the support to everyone involved.

    Cheers,

    JD.

I just called GoDaddy, I had them deactivate the 2 files in question
    wp-content/uploads/GeoIP.dat
    wp-content/uploads/GeoIPv6.dat
My site are back up and running.

ok, i just had GoDaddy delete these files and it worked…question, do i need to download a new version of woocommerce and delete the old version and re-install or just leave it alone now that it is back online and working?

Do you need the geolocation feature of WooCommerce? This is a setting where WC locates the user from their IP address and shows the appropriate taxes for their state or country.

all of our products are virtual, so we don’t ship anything out via mail amd we are located in florida which doesn’t have a virtual product sales tax law…so i would say no
