Hi! I just upgraded to versoin 4.2.3 which triggers the following error:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘const’ (T_CONST), expecting variable (T_VARIABLE) in /chroot/home/newwptec/tectonics.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-countup-js/includes/class-wp-cujs-options.php on line 30

    Can you help please?

    Hi @jillbalkus

Looks like that issue is due to an older PHP version installed on your server, what you can do is:

    1. Check your PHP version. If your version is less than 7.1.0 then is probably this is your issue.

    2. Tell your hosting to upgrade your PHP version in your server but tell them to take a backup first because some PHP scripts from other plugins might break (I don’t think this will happen but just to be sure).

A good reason to upgrade your PHP version is that some PHP processes are faster than before.

Let me know if that’s your issue. Thanks.
