Fatal Error on plugin activation for last version 1.4.8

Sorry about this people… If you don’t have PHP 5.3, rest assured we’ll fix this by tomorrow, for now, please roll back to 1.4.7, by deleting the entire plugin through FTP and reinstalling.

Most host are running 5.3+ on their shared servers, is Yoast needing 5.4 now?

DoctorMicro: most hosts are running 5.2, which is the min requirement for WP. If you have 5.3, the update will actually work flawlessly. You can just use 1.4.7, the stable version, that works fine.

that woudl have been a good note to include…a change in PHP required version…

Just a note: you may have to delete the plugin using FTP, etc. To be able to load version 1.4.7, which may show is loaded or that version 1.4.8 is loaded already.

@berenerchamion it wasn’t an intended change. We’re fixing it all back so the next version will work on PHP 5.2 without issue.

If I delete this plugin out of FTP, and then download this again and install it, will it keep all of the settings in there, etc.?

I can confirm: After update on PHP 5.3 (Hostgator) plugin is working again.

No worries – thanks for all the quick work guys! I upgraded to 5.3 and just now re-applied the new version.
