Problem: I tried to import several, then just one pin from Pinterest. I get this error message each time I try to import:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function exif_imagetype() in /home/u7913125/public_html/wp-content/plugins/pinterest-importer/pinim-functions.php on line 157

Everything else seems to be in order:
    1). Login authenticated
    2). Pins are cached

    General Suggestion:
Maybe I missed it, but if not, you should put in the description that each pin will create a post.
    – I am glad it did not work for at first because I would have created 1200 posts.

    General Questions:
1). What status are the posts that are created – Draft, Pending, Published?
2). How do you use this on an ongoing basis? When I add more pins to a Board, when I import will the previously imported pins be duplicated?

It is a great plugin and a great idea. I look forward to using it. Thank you for freely sharing your hard work with us!

Oops. Just read the answer to question 2).
    Excellent!

The cache emptied. I will try again. I tried again, same fatal error.

    From your description:

Save the original Pin informations (pin ID, source, etc) as post metas (with prefix _pinterest-)

How does that work? What do I need to do to have the info from pins as post metas?

    Thanks

    Hi Toni,

You got that fatal error because of the required exif extension that is missing in your PHP installation. It’s installed by default on most of web hosts; maybe you should contact yours.

you should put in the description that each pin will create a post

    You are right

status are the posts that are created

post status will be published (as they are in your pinterest), but pins imported from secret boards will be private

    Save the original Pin informations

: it is useful to keep some informations relative to the original pins if you want, for example, extend the plugin or create custom functions for your theme, or; most important, avoid to import the same pin twice.

Don’t forget to make a donation if you like the plugin !
I’ll add some informations regarding your suggestions and the exif stuff in the readme of the next release.

Sorry, I lost track of this. I will try again and update you. I will gladly donate and rate, if I use the plugin.

    Thanks for responding.

My host installed EXIF. I haven’t been able to test yet. I will close this thread. I’ll reopen it if I have issues. Once I’ve used the plug-in, I will rate, mark that it works, and donate.

Thank you for your time, help, and plugin!
