The error occurred during or immediately after updating the wp-rss-multi-importer plug-in

Error message: Fatal error: Call to a member function add_menu() on a non-object in /home/content/46/11441146/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-native-dashboard/langswitcher.php on line 28
    Host – GoDaddy
    System – Apache/Unix
    Yesterday (7/3/13):
-I had not updated from 3.5.2 to 3.6
-Several plug-ins indicated need for update, I chose update all
    Today about 5:30AM (7/4/13):
-The RSS feed plug-in (wp-rss-multi-importer) indicated need for update, I thought it had been updated the day before. I chose to update the RSS feed and immediately got the Fatal error and lost access to the Admin Panel
-Tried to access through GoDaddy’s admin, got same result.
-GoDaddy allowed for upgrade to 3.6 w/out going to Admin Panel. I updated to 3.6 hoping that might solve problem. Update was successful.
    – The site still works but I still cannot access the admin panel

Because of the sequence of events it seems likely that the error might be caused by the RSS feed plugin update.

I’m a bit out of my element and would appreciate any help.

    Also
This is a copy of a post I just made in a WP Forum. The original poster had the exact same error msg including the PHP file and line #.

but the error has to do with another plugin (wp-native-dashboard)…why aren’t people deactivating that plugin since that is what is causing the error?

    Thanks for the quick reply. I am fairly new to this and was uncomfortable trying to manage files directly. I was talking the folks at GoDaddy when you responded and they were recommending the same thing. I have removed wp-native-dashboard folder. As a result;
    1) I was able to access the admin panel
    2) wp-rss-multi-importer was still in need of update
    3) The RSS feed updated without error
    4) All again is right with the world

    Thanks again.

I was able to solve it in a “surgical” way.

    Here’s what I’ve done:
Note: I had backed up all the file (using FTP) to a local folder before upgrading, so I knew I can always re-upload ver 3.5 back (but wanted to avoid it)

    The elimination process:
    1. Access FTP
    2. Change each plugin’s folder name (under /wp-content/plugins) to something like “akismet – x” (w/o the “).
    3. After each folder name-change try to re-access admin panel.
    4. Once able to access the admin panel I knew which plugin was causing this and have deleted that plugin from the Plugins page.
    5. I kept testing the admin panel to make sure I have a fully functional WP as I saw there’s more than one plugin causing some functionality issues; after I accessed the admin panel I was not able to add a new page or edit a page for example.

Now it is all back and running okay.

~30 mins spent on the process!
