I got this error message when I attempted to upgrade to wordpress 4.1.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_json_encode() in D:\Hosting\12013281\html\wp-admin\includes\misc.php on line 668

Some other people have posted this same problem on this support forum, so it appears it is a problem from wordpress itself. Please how can I get around this issue right now. I cannot access my dashboard.
If I have to manually download wordpress 4.1 will I then have to restore my database from backup? Please do help me out.
    My URL is:https://www.kuneexbusinessworld.com

  • The updates took place on 12/30/2014, well over two weeks after the fatal error problem started. So, all the files and folders are up to date, but the problem still persists.

I hear your logic there, but I would proceed anyway.

Secondly, I use filezilla to access my server from my local computer, as instructed by my service provider. But I cannot find any option to delete anything. The option I find is to overwrite the files.

In FileZilla, you should be able to right-click on a folder or file and select “Delete”.

    Hello again:
I’ve been on a course for some weeks and I’ve not been able to get on to the forum. But my current problem remains unresolved.
Actually, I did successfully delete the WP admin folder, but I just couldn’t upload the new one on to my server. I used file manager, but file manager couldn’t upload the folder: it only uploads files. As a blind computer user, I cannot perform mouse clicks, and so I got sighted assistance for this. My assistant couldn’t use the filezilla application to do an upload. He just didn’t know the exact point to put the newly copied WP admin folder. He doesn’t use the wordpress application, and so can’t help much.
    Based on a previous response,
” However, and as someone who has only one eye that can read, I would guess the moderators here will not complain if I welcome you to find your way to one of my sites and send me an e-mail so we might try to get your site straight with a bit of help for you beyond these forums.”
I will very much appreciate this assistance, because I no longer have access to my sighted assistant. I need to start work on my site soonest.
    Please kindly help out.
    Thank you.

    Hello again:
The issue was resolved a few weeks ago by my hosting company. They’ve assisted me in the installation of the WP admin folder, which I just couldn’t do by myself, because of my visual impairment. My site is now running without any more issues. Thank you for your support.
