Fatal error–memory exhausted

    Hello. I just tried to upload a .zip file for Gravity Forms plugin. When I tried to activate it in my control panel, this error came up. Now I can’t log in to my control panel at all and it keeps giving me this same error, except the line # changes at the end (i.e “on line 522) Can someone please help?

  • Never saw that problem before, so all I can give is a suggestion, do you have FTP access to your blog ?
    (your /data/… local path makes me wonder if you’re not on localhost anyway ^^)

    You’ll have to temporarily disable the Gravity Forms plugin, at least until you can log once into your blog’s wp-admin. To do so, just rename to something else the folder for Gravity Forms in /wp-content/plugins
    (and rename it back to the real name after it has automatically had the plugin deactivated when you loaded the admin).

    Thank you very much. While I could not figure out how to rename the Gravity Forms file, I did manage to find it through your directions and just deleted the entire thing. I am now able to log back in.

    The next time similar problems happen to you, you might like to know it’s enough to just rename the folder instead of deleting it. This way, it is only deactivated, but can be reactivated again from your admin (it will still be able to work with the new name you gave the folder.)

    Thanks again. I just couldn’t figure out how to rename the folder. I still have the download and can try again. I appreciate the help as i would not have figured out where the folder actually was without it.

    Oh ! It depends on what software you’re using. Usually, a right-click on a folder allows to rename it, or you can click that folder and hit F2…

    I tried that as well…my hosting company is Network solutions so i was in the file manager there.
