The main events page commonly reports a fatal error. This can temporarily be fixes by resaving the general events settings. The logs say this:
Call to a member function format() on null in /home/…………content/plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/Tribe/Template.php(1059): include(‘/home/…’)\n#4 /home/…./plugins/the-events-calendar/common/src/Tribe/Template.php(910): Tribe__Tem…’

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @chadmohr, thanks for sharing the error/warning here. It seems like you are using our Legacy views which we do not provide support for anymore due to bugs like these that are complicated for us to track down and fix.

Please take a look at the article above about why we are no longer supporting that version of our codebase.

Moreover, I suspect that this could also be PHP Version or REDIS caching. We recommend PHP7.4 and please clear any caching — third-party plugin or server-side if that makes a difference. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/php-8-support/

Let me know if this helps, please do keep me posted.

    Best Regards,

    I appreciate the response.

This site is running php 7.4, and the ‘use updated designs’ option is ticked. So it shouldn’t be either of those things.

I’m using the Breeze caching plugin, but the fatal error happens with or without it activated.

    What else could this be?

Hi @chadmohr, I see. Thanks for confirming the PHP version, and sharing your third-party caching plugin here.

That’s not good. We had a similar issue, but it was pinpointed to REDIS and Object Caching.

Just out of curiosity, could you try switching to default WP themes? See if that makes a difference. I would also try to replicate the issue and investigate further.

    Best,

I dug a little deeper and discovered that REDIS was running on the server (hosted at Cloudways). I turned it off and this may have resolved the issue. If not, I’ll post here again.

Any plans to address this conflict?

    Hi there,

With our latest release of The Events Calendar 6.0.4, we resolved the issue between the Events Calendar and Object Cache. Please be sure to review our full Release Notes for more details and update your plugin whenever you get a chance.

As always, we suggest testing updates on a staging site first and having a recent backup, but it should all be smooth sailing. If you implemented any workarounds, you can remove them after updating the plugins.

If you still have issues after updating to the latest releases, please open a new support thread and include any specific details and screenshots if possible.

    Have a great day,
    Gladys
