Fatal Error: Installed a WordPress Plug-In and it Crashed/Disable my Site

FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the \wp-content\plugins\wordpress-donation-plugin-with-goals-and-paypal-ipn-by-nonprofitcmsorg folder.

Thank you…Do I need to contact my host Discountasp.net for instructions on how to “FTP into my site”? My apologies, this is all new to me; but, I follow instructions well; so, any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I did recently back up my site using FileZilla; so, can I delete it there; or does it need to be completed through the Control Panel of my hostng account?

Will this restore the site and/or make it visible again?

FileZilla IS FTP – so if you already used that, you have FTP access already. Using that, find the plugins folder and then delete the misbehaving one in FileZilla.

It’s always a good idea to backup your site before doing anything like this.

Since my site is now connected to Filezilla, does that mean that I now have a back-up; or do I still NEED a back-up. If so, can you suggest a secure back-up that I can use locally and via the web?

Also, as I update/make changes to my site will Filezilla also update once I connect to my site via Filezilla?

Hi,

If you have access to FTP, well it’s fine and you can delete your bad plugin directory.

You can also disable plugins in your database in case you can not access your dashboard. So look in your database for table “options” and find a field called “active_plugins”(id=36). Modify it by replacing its content by :
a:0:{}

Now all plugins are disabled and you can access your dashboard.
