    I installed the/a WordPress donation plug-in and it disabled my site: iaspiretoinspire.org. I receive the following error message: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare widget_dpayform() (previously declared in E:\web\aspiringine\htdocs\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-donation-plugin-with-goals-and-paypal-ipn-by-nonprofitcmsorg\dpay-widget.php:8) in E:\web\aspiringine\htdocs\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-donation-plugin-with-goals-and-paypal-ipn-by-nonprofitcmsorg\dpay-widget.php on line 8

    I no longer have access to my Dashboard; so, is it possible to remove the plug-in to restore the site? If so, how and where?! PLEASE HELP!

  • FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the \wp-content\plugins\wordpress-donation-plugin-with-goals-and-paypal-ipn-by-nonprofitcmsorg folder.

    Thank you…Do I need to contact my host Discountasp.net for instructions on how to “FTP into my site”? My apologies, this is all new to me; but, I follow instructions well; so, any help is GREATLY appreciated.

    I did recently back up my site using FileZilla; so, can I delete it there; or does it need to be completed through the Control Panel of my hostng account?

    Will this restore the site and/or make it visible again?

    FileZilla IS FTP – so if you already used that, you have FTP access already. Using that, find the plugins folder and then delete the misbehaving one in FileZilla.

    It’s always a good idea to backup your site before doing anything like this.

    SHOUT YE I HAVE RECEIVED ALL FAVOR FROM THE HEAVENS ABOVE…! One WHOLE weeks worth of AGONY and back and forth with my hosting support…two brief interactions have restored my website and my BELIEF that there is TECHNO FAVOR in the stars…IT WORKED!

    THANK YOU, BOTH!

    Since my site is now connected to Filezilla, does that mean that I now have a back-up; or do I still NEED a back-up. If so, can you suggest a secure back-up that I can use locally and via the web?

    Also, as I update/make changes to my site will Filezilla also update once I connect to my site via Filezilla?

    LOL! Glad we (unknowingly) rescued you from tech support hell — perhaps that says something about your hosting company?

    No, filezilla does not do backups by itself. See this for more info on doing so:

    I will follow the link that you provided and complete a back up BEFORE I do anything else…my PRAISES to you!

    Hi,

    If you have access to FTP, well it’s fine and you can delete your bad plugin directory.

    You can also disable plugins in your database in case you can not access your dashboard. So look in your database for table “options” and find a field called “active_plugins”(id=36). Modify it by replacing its content by :
    a:0:{}

    Now all plugins are disabled and you can access your dashboard.
