Fatal error from installing “BuddyPress Template Pack” with the BuddyMatic theme

    Just a warning to anyone who is thinking about installing the “BuddyPress Template Pack” plugin with the BuddyMatic theme. Doing this crashed my blog and admin dashboard with the following error:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare bp_dtheme_ajax_addremove_friend() (previously declared in /home1/practipl/public_html/wp3/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/ajax.php:334) in /home1/practipl/public_html/wp3/wp-content/themes/buddymatic/_inc/ajax.php on line 63

    I can’t uninstall the “BuddyPress Template Pack” plugin.

  • same combination. I’m getting a HTTP 500 internal server error. how could i restore access to my wordpress and the admin menu?

    re: to myself and FYI , after the HTTP 500, i resumed access by
    1. renaming the themes/buddymatic -> buddymaticXXX
    2. /wp-login.php now accessible, logged in -> this redirected to a blank page at site www root
    3. opened /wp-admin/ page anyway, and was accessible
    4. clicked into /wp-admin/themes.php, a message indicating a corrupted template appears(well in my case in Japanese), message also says it would change back to the default template because of this.
    5. root page now appears normal, still looking over for any unusualities..

    went through this by blind guesses, not sure if it’s good or not

    Thanks – saved me the nuclear option of reinstalling my test site!

    how can i rename themes/buddymatic -> buddymaticXXX?

    This fix also save me from a major headache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
