Fatal Error footer.php

  • Greetings, guys.

    I recently updated everything on our school reunion website and now the footer area and widgets do not appear.

    Instead, this is what I see at the footer area:

    Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /var/sites/w/wheatleyhillshighschool.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/themes/luminescence-lite/footer.php on line 36

    Could someone point me in the right direction, please?

    Thanks for contacting us!

    However we’re unable to access the above mentioned site url since it seems to be in maintenance mode.
    There shouldn’t be any issue regarding footer since we’ve checked it locally and please confirm if you’re using the latest version i.e, v2.2.0

    I have disabled maintenance mode so you should now be able to view the error in the footer area.

    My apologies…. I was in maintenance mode while trying to fix the issue and forgot to revert.

    Yes.. I am using the latest version of Luminescence Lite. I downloaded the latest version when I noticed the issue and replaced the former (same version) with that to see if it helped.

    Did you check by going into Customize>>Basic Settings>>Your Copyright and add/change the copyright text? Also check if you’re using any third party plugin/s. If yes please deactivate the plugin/s temporarily and check if the problem still exists.
