    Hi,

I activated a faulty code snippet via Code Snippets (already posted issue with them)

I am getting a Fatal Error message and cannot access WP admin any more.

I would like to delete or mofify the code snippet but cannot access it.

I got an email with a WP “recovery mode” link that is not working any more.

    How should I proceed?

    Thanks.

    Regards

    Hi,

I am stuck with this issue.

I invested a lot of time developing the code snippets.

How do I activate Code Snippets while deleting the bad last code snippet I uploaded?

    I appreciate any suggestion.

    Regards

    Hi @eliasgdj

Thank you so much for your quick response.

WP is currently on Recovery Mode and Code Snippets is paused.

It says “Disable when troubleshooting”. Code Snippets is in red.

For safety reasons I would prefer to go with the following solution:

A more convenient way to enable sage mode on a per-page basis is by appending ?snippets-safe-mode=true to the URL of the current page.

The issue is that when I append it on:
    https://mysite.com/wp-admin/plugins.php?plugin_status=all
It does not seem to generate any changes.

    Please advice.

    Thanks again.

You do not need to troubleshoot cause you already know the problem ??

You have to exit Recovery Mode and add that at the end of the URL. Plugin will be activated, snippets not executed, so you will be able to disable the bad snippet.

    Thank you for the suggestions.

Deleted the bad snippet but got a Fatal Error again.

Orginally the Fatal Error was due to this bad snippet.

    Not sure how to proceed.

    I appreciate some advice.

    Thanks.

    Regards.

Can you leave an screenshot or the exact error? It appears on the email you got at the beginning.

    Hi @eliasgdj

The error I got on the email is:

An error of type E_PARSE in line 18 of file /home3/dir/mysite/wp-content/plugins/code-snippets/php/snippet-ops.php(469) : eval()’d code. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ”Ansiedad” (T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING), expecting ‘(‘

    I hope it helps.

    Thanks again for the support.

    Regards.

It’s a snippet so disable it (disable all if you don’t know which one is).

The one that as “Ansiedad” is the problem, it should have a ‘(‘ as the message says.

    @eliasgdj

    The problem is resolved.

    The bad snippet is gone.

The root cause of the problem was actually an outdated PHP version on the host side that started generating ‘syntax errors’ in several plugins.

    Thanks for your support.

    Regards.
