Fatal error: ‘continue’ not in the ‘loop’ or ‘switch’ context

  • Hi. When I upgrade PHP from 5.6 to 7.0 on my client’s server trying to install a new WP site, another site of theirs on the server (listed in this post details) gets the following error after upgrading PHP.

    Fatal error: ‘continue’ not in the ‘loop’ or ‘switch’ context in /data/23/3/97/119/3912282/user/4345597/htdocs/gws/wp-content/themes/marine/inc/theme-options.php on line 2176

    I have no experience or knowledge of this other site that’s getting the error and would love any kind of feedback or suggestions to easily fixing this. I see other related issues online with this specific error but they all relate to other plugins causing their issue.

  • Since the error is in the theme, you should ask at the theme’s support forum, or just switch to a different theme.
