I have used your plugin for years without incident….. until today 11/7/23.

When trying to upgrade to 4.9, I received this error message:

Fatal error: Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version “>= 7.2.0”. You are running 5.6.40.

I have never seen this error message in 15 years of using WordPress. Also, I am able to update other plugins on my site, with no problems.

Unfortunately, I have a site that REQUIRES a couple of older plugins to work, so I can’t upgrade to PHP 7.2.

    Can someone offer any assistance?

Hello @locutus45 – I checked and it does not seem to be necessary for dependencies, so I have just pushed out 4.9.1 that removes that requirement. I have not checked it though, please let us know.

Also, as you are aware – PHP 5.6 reached end of security support in 2018 so I would highly recommend getting those older plugins refactored or replaced :-/

    It worked!

Thank you for your quick reply and solution to my problem, Lars!

I have a few bespoke plugins that are required for my site to function as it does.

Unfortunately, no newer alternative is available, hence my out of date PHP.

I realize at some point soon, I’ll have to bite the bullet and figure something out.

    I appreciate your help!

    Good day
