Fatal Error: Can’t activate the importer!

  • I keep getting this error when I try to activate it:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class WXR_Parser in /home2/leahlenn/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-importer/parsers.php on line 12

    I really need this plugin because I am trying to transfer my client’s site from my own subdomain where I built the site onto her new domain. I really don’t want to have to rebuild the site on hers. Any work arounds or fixes for this???

  • Is there more to the error message? Such as “already declared in ….” some other location?

    I’d suggest looking for an alternative plugin to do the import – I believe there are lots of more feature-rich importing plugins available in the repo.

    Nope, unfortunately not. It just says that error. I have tried other plugins and can’t seem to get any that are user friendly and work without any glitches for me. I’m just a designer, not a developer. So some of the migration plugins are way over my head, and the ones that I can understand create glitches in my site.
