    Hello Everyone,

I have moved my WordPress site across onto a cPanel hosting plan on GoDaddy.

Now however when I click around the site the page either loads up oddly or I get this error message:

Fatal error: Cannot call overloaded function for non-object in /home/internetgenie/public_html/internet-genie.co.uk/wp-includes/class-wp.php on line 529

This seems to happen whether it is on the front end or the back end of the site.

Does anyone know what I would need to do to fix this.

    Many thanks in advance!

  • Thanks cyfocus. Updating to PHP Version 5.5 rectified my issues with the overloaded function (at GoDaddy).

Thanks @cyfocus, I was having the same issues with a WordPress site on GoDaddy, switching to PHP 5.5 seems to have resolved it!

Thanks @cyfocus, It worked like a charm.

Thanks @cyfocus. Also worked for me.

woo hoo! this has been plaguing me for months!
I made the change but only time will tell, the error had become very rare.

I also manage sites on Hostmonster, but several months ago they were courteous enough to send me many emails telling me about how I should upgrade my php version or certain plugins and themes may not work. I never got that from GoDaddy, not suprising!

It never occurred to me, because I didn’t know what error messages might indicate a php version problem.

okay a week later and I still have the error!
anyone else still getting it after changing the php version?

Cpanel’s default PHP setting is 5.4(native), so by changing it to either 5.4 or 5.5 seems to have resolved issues with a website I was experiencing problems with.
