  • Fatal error: Call to undefined function untrailingslashit() in /services/webpages/a/l/alpacaspoggiopiero.com/public/wp-includes/option.php on line 126

    I am getting this error when I load the site and don’t know what to do about it. I have looked at the option.php page where there is nothing on line 126.

    I don’t have much knowledge with php, this appears to have happened after I tried to install a security certificate on the site but this may not be the cause. My host say they have now installed the certificate and that they have tested wordpress and say it is functioning correctly. So I am stuck any help appreciated.

  • There’s no reason why it should be missing. My guess is something is wrong with the core files. If you don’t have FTP Access or do not feel comfortable working with files then contact your host and see if they can reinstall WordPress after take a full backup of your files.

    If you do have FTP access you can download WordPress reinstall the /wp-admin/ and /wp-includes/ files. Again, you should take a full back up of the files and folders in case something get overridden.

    Hi, thank you for responding. I have tried that in the past and it didn’t work, I just tried again but I get the same error.

    Strange, could you try renaming the plugins directory to prevent any plugins from loading? Maybe rename it from wp-content/plugins to wp-content/--plugins. Possibly do the same for the active theme to test if a plugin or theme is the root of the issue.

    Yes its strange I try all these things and nothing changes.
    The Functions.php file seems to be calling the Option.php and somehow this error is then happening. This all started at the beginning of August and I do see that the server has quarantined some files to do with plugins Updraft and wordpress seo. I have removed these and disabled the plugins folder and the theme but it hasn’t changed – The error just comes back referring to a different line in the file ‘Line 133’.     Hello, a customer has exact the same error. I agree, strange error. Did you solve this in any way? Or are there new insights? Thanks in advance.
