I am getting this error. Fatal error: Call to undefined function: add_filter() in /hsphere/local/home/mistaong/westerncivtogo.com/wp-includes/default-filters.php on line 20
Apparently a very common one with the new upgrade. I searched the forums and found several topics with no reply and some with replies but no fixes that when implemented actually worked or I am not enough of a geek to understand. Please help. I am trying to upgrade after having 2 blogs fall victim to a hacker and I need to get them back up and running. Seeing the frequency of this bug I would urge the wordpress team to look into whats happening. Thanks!

    Chris

You did not upload all the WordPress files to your site.

Upload them again, and this time be sure you got them all.

Ok so I re-uploaded and now I get this error: Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /hsphere/local/home/mistaong/westerncivtogo.com/wp-settings.php on line 212
    when I open up wp-settings.php in my editor line 212 is this: $prefix = $wpdb->set_prefix($table_prefix);
. Any idea what is going on?

Ok I am getting REAAAALLY frustrated. I have never had problems with wordpress before and I have 3 blogs that i have been running. I just re-uploaded and then went to the home page url and it brought up a bunch of junk about the askimet spam protector and then a bunch of code. I am now re-deleting wordpress off the server in order to re-upload it for the 6th time. I have been noticing browsing the forums that a lot of people are having the same problems and some want to downgrade. Maybe releasing this version a month ahead of schedule was a bad idea.
I will post once the re-upload is done. ??

I re-uploaded everything in sections. Now I get a blank screen when I go to the site. So I am guessing all the file STILL aren’t making it to the server. I am using FileZilla as my FTP client. Any recommended settings to make sure it uploads file by file so everything gets out on the server? I would also be interested in any other free FTP uploading software that is KNOWN to work with the 2.6 version of wordpress.

I used my other FTP client that I use called LEECHFTP instead of FileZilla. I uploaded wordpress by each individual directory. And I am still getting a blank page. LEECH has a handy little head that lets you know if each file makes it or not so I am pretty sure everything is out there. The blog that is currently being a pain is at westerncivtogo.com if anyone wants to take a look. I really need some help here please.
I can manually go to the login page but the admin page is also blank as well. I was also able to upgrade the database by manually going to the upgrade page.

I can’t tell you what you’re doing wrong, because I can’t actually watch you doing it wrong.

All I can tell you is that I’ve upgraded dozens of WordPress install to 2.6, I use FileZilla myself, and I’ve never had problems like you’re describing. The upgrade process is simple and straightforward. Put the thing on the server, log in. Nothing to it.

Ya. I have also used wordpress alot (I currently use it on 3 sites) and have NEVER had a problem until this version. And I have also always used filezilla and never had a problem and I have NOT changed any of the way I have done it the previous times. I love wordpress I think its great. But apparently something is up with this version cause I counted at least 5 other people who encountered the same problem as I am having. I would think that because of this it would merit maybe a little more work to track down and see why this is a common problem and why so many end up with missing files when uploading.

That has got to be the longest way in which I have ever been called a idiot. I guess I am not going to find help on wordpress’ own forums so I will try and continue on my own. I must say I am very disappointed in these forums. I most likely will not return.

I have resolved the issue myself.

Hello I am first time user of WP, but I have followed most of instructions to get my WP site work. My hosting provider doest support all minimum requirements and everything should works without problem.

But…. when I try to run instalation proces on https://www.mytraja.nazory.cz/wp-admin/install.php I only get this screen

Parse error: parse error in /3w/nazory.cz/m/mytraja/wp-config.php on line 13

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp() in /3w/nazory.cz/m/mytraja/wp-blog-header.php on line 14

Also I have followed host provider instructions, and they send me that everything should works well

Could anybody share your expierence with installation.

    Many thanx:)

    Peter
