• Hallo folks, Ive tried to update my wordpress to the lastest but something is messed up
Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_filter() in /home/frederick/htdocs/html/blog/wp-includes/default-filters.php on line 20

some of the fuys on the irc channel said me to re-upload the files Ive tried it with no success so any suggestions can I somehow store the data of the database and just reinstall a new wordpress over and old db andits somehow recovers the data? Cause Ive tried the update in 5 minutes tutorial with no luck…

  • Maybe there’s another file damaged? add_filter is a function that’s called in the default-filters.php file but defined in another file. Probably uploading the whole bunch of WordPress files again may solve your problem.

Ive tried it twice, cant I just keep the data and install a new wp? Like can I save the contents of the “archieves” folder and the just drop them inside a new wp?

What do you mean with “the content of the ‘archives’ folder”?

You should have an installation folder, where all your wordpress files reside. You could delete all files and folders except your wp-content folder (your theme and your plugins are in there!) and your wp-config.php file, and upload all other files again. There should be no need to re-install your weblog.
