• Hey guys,

I have been using WordPress for about 8 months, so I’m fairly new at it. I found a plug in that I wanted to use and its requirements were wordpress 3.0 or higher. I went into my admin and noticed i was using 2.9.2. So I clicked on the automatic upgrade, it looks like it was working, but then nothing happened.

when I jumped over to my blog, I got this message

“Fatal error: Call to a member function add_rewrite_tag() on a non-object in /home/hines00/public_html/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 289”

I’ll probably need specific instructions on this one, as I have NO idea how to fix this.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-running the upgrade manually using /wp-admin/upgrade.php.
