  • Today, I also got this error. It turned out to be an issue with a mismatch between WordPress version and plugin version. Credits to OpenDNA on Mastodon for pointing me into the right direction: https://mastodon.sdf.org/@opendna/111765518315269283

    Hey @seasoned_geek,

Thank you so much for patiently waiting for a response! We have a backlog of support requests and work through them on a first-come, first-served basis.?

I checked and your website is now running the latest version of Jetpack. I take it that you were able to fix the issue ??

@skoop: Thanks for suggesting the workaround to fix the problem.

    Hello @seasoned_geek

Do you have updates about that? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no activity, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!

It was never “solved.” The plug-in appears “operational” but is running at glacial speed dragging down the entire site. Yet another example of why Agile is not a software engineering methodology. When I get time this weekend I’m going to “fix” it by un-installing Jetpack. This isn’t the first time you guys/gals/others pushed out an “update” that installs without bothering to check any dependencies. Very sloppy development.

I just now replaced JetPack with Solid Security. Hopefully they won’t push out updates without having them check dependencies prior to installing.

    Hi there, @seasoned_geek,

I am sorry to hear you walked away from Jetpack, and we hope you will give our plugin another go anytime soon.

I’m going to mark this thread as solved. If you have any further questions or need more help, you’re welcome to open another thread here. Cheers!
