This morning one of my blog authors reported a problem of being unable to view anything after logging in, on checking their account and looking at the posts tab I was presented with this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 92160 bytes) in /home3/terrykwm/public_html/wp-admin/menu-header.php on line 85

Can anyone tell me why? I’m assuming that so much space it allocated for each user to post in. This particular user des post podcasts though I have removed older mp3 files from the folder they are stored in via the ftp and still have the same error.

It relates to the PHP settings. It will be configured to be allowed to use a maximum amount of memory for a single process.

Either you have a lot of something (e.g. posts) or the code is an a loop.

Posts tab? Can you clarify what you mean? I’m assuming it’s something different than https://domain.com/wp-admin/edit.php (which shows posts).

That’s odd. I’d start with turning off plugins. You may have one that’s sucking up your memory.

Oh dear, this is very bad.
Upon reading your reply I de-activated podpress, since the user experiencing the problems is responsible for posting a weekly podcast.
Doing so did fix the problem though will prevent the posting of said weekly podcast.

I suppose I should contact the plugin author to report this, however in the meantime can anyone recommend another decent media player plug in? preferably one that supports itunes

Actually. This is worse than the previous post suggests…

I installed a different media player to see if i could get around the problem only to be presented with this:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 92160 bytes) in /home3/terrykwm/public_html/wp-content/plugins/powerpress/getid3/module.audio.mp3.php on line 83

When I went to verify the url of the file I was attaching.
