    Hi Lingotek!

I just downloaded the Polylang plugin, and as soon as I entered the settings, a little window told me to begin translating already (I can’t remember the exact wording.). This somehow meant downloading lingoteks plugin. So far so good.

Right after that, I got this message on my website:
“Fatal error: Cannot redeclare dd() (previously declared in /var/www/web/web670451/projektviralvideo.dk/wp-content/plugins/lingotek-translation/lingotek.php:601) in /var/www/web/web670451/projektviralvideo.dk/wp-content/themes/TESSERACT/functions.php on line 12”

And now I can’t do anything on my website – not even login to the WP dashboard.

Could you please help me out?

    Regards,
    Simon

    Simon,

This is a debugging function that we had in our code to help us with development. Since it is causing problems we will remove it and release a new version. To help with your website do you have server access where you could manually delete the Lingotek plugin and then once we have released the new version re-download it? If you can that would let you have access to your site again.

    erichie,

Like Simon, I, too, who uses the Tesseract theme got the following fatal error message today when downloading and activating your Lingotek plug-in:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare dd() (previously declared in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas08_data03/21/2647121/html/wp-content/plugins/lingotek-translation/lingotek.php:601) in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas08_data03/21/2647121/html/wp-content/themes/TESSERACT/functions.php on line 12

Like many users of the Tesseract theme, we are novices who don’t know about server accesses and the like. I immediately sent a support request answered by your Sales point of contact “Lauren” whom, let’s just say, didn’t seem to have a clue. Your Support desk as of yet has not responded.

From what you told Simon today, It’s beginning to dawn on me that your “debugging function” that helps you with your “development” may have caused me the loss of a solid 3-months work in the creation of my business website. Please assure me that it ain’t so.

    erichie,

Oh, I should have also mentioned that what happened to Simon happened to me exactly as Simon describes, only that I better remember what was in the little window, which read to the effect of: “Would you like Lingotek to translate your entire website for FREE?” When I clicked “Yes” that’s the moment my website got WP’s answer to the Blue Screen of Death.

    With freebies like this…!

    bpikos,

The problem is that the Tesseract theme has declared the exact same debugging function in their code which is conflicting with ours so I wouldn’t place all the blame on Lingotek. We will release a new version of the plugin without this function. If you need help recovering your site and getting things working again please feel free to contact our Support team to get that set up.

Just as a follow up we just released version 1.1.6 of our plugin in which we have removed the offending code. If you are able to access your hosting and server and delete the lingotek-translation folder from wp-content/plugins and then re-download the plugin you won’t have this issue anymore.
