Fatal error after WP upgrade

  • I have a free 000webhost account. During the upgrade to 3.8 something went wrong. I get the following error when trying to access my site:

    Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/a4236610/public_html/wp-includes/date.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/a4236610/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 117

  • Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress using FTP. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Thank you. That worked! So in the future this is how I should update WP?
