We upgraded to WP 4.8 yesterday and then updated our plugins. However, updating Awesome Support produced a Fatal Error that killed our entire site (WP admin and front side). Upon inspection, a php file was randomly placed in our Plugins directory: awesome-support-custom-fields.php.

Removing that extraneous file restored access to our site. However, now Awesome Support is no longer installed and we have no access to our tickets.

We are going to revert to a backup to restore the site, however, we would like to update WP and Awesome Support. Is there a known issue that we can address?

    Hello:

We haven’t heard about anything like this before. We have done at least a dozen of these upgrades on various test sites so it should work without any issues.

What version of AS are you using?

Also, one way to try the upgrade is maybe to disable AS first, do the upgrade and then renable it to see if that works.
