We just upgraded to version 2.7 of Sermon Manager and are seeing a fatal error message. Furthermore, all of our sermon pages are just returning a 404 error. These were all working correctly before upgrading to version 2.7. Below is the error message we are receiving on the admin site:

  • Hey @dougonecent,

Thank you for supplying detailed error messages alongside your report.
The error should be fixed in the latest development release, and it will be fixed officially soon.

There are couple more small issues that need to be fixed before we make a release.

Regarding 404 error: Could you please open Settings -> Permalinks page (admin area, menu on the left side, usually near the bottom) and see if the issue is solved?

    Thank you for understanding. ??

I have visited the Permalinks page and our permalinks are set to Post Name. I clicked submit to save the setting again, however we are still getting the 404 error message. Under Sermons, on the admin side, when I click on Topics I get an error stating “Invalid Taxonomy”. Once I click on this item, none of the other Sermons menu items work either. For example Sermons > Sermons now says “Invalid Post Type”.

Were you going to provide a link to the development version for me to try?

    Thanks,
    Doug

Hehe, sorry about that, forgot to link it ??

That issue should not happen, we actually got couple reports and we will fix it ASAP

    Thank you for reporting them!

Thanks, it seems to be working better now, but our shortcodes are not working. You can see them being displayed on this page:

    Thanks,
    Doug

    Hey @dougonecent,

I checked the page when you made the post and shortcodes indeed did not work, but they work now.

    Did you do anything?

    (@dougonecent)

No, we did not change anything; maybe it was a caching issue.

Now that we have that part working, our series pages are still showing a 404 error. I have gone back in and submitted the permalink settings again to make sure they are correct.

We get 404 errors from either of these:

    Thanks,
    Doug

Your pages still look great. Why doesn’t my site look like that? Did you do custom styling?

Alright, @dougonecent, we tried to reproduce the issue on local and several production websites, but with no avail.

Could you send us temporary WordPress admin logins to [email protected] so we can check?

    Hey @dougonecent,

Seems like we didn’t need login info after all. We have identified the issue and created a fix that will be released shortly.

2.7.2 will be released in couple minutes, just update to it and you are all set ??

(Note: you might need to visit Permalinks page again – for the final time)

Thanks @nikolam, the latest update resolved the issue.

@asmith731 We didn’t do any major styling of our pages; just used the shortcodes to create our series landing page.
