  • Something similar happened to me. After installing the update, my site completely crashes and I get the following error message:

Fatal error: Class ‘PublishEventsManager’ not found in (file path) wp-content/plugins/autochimp/autochimp-plugins.php on line 220

After deleting the plugin I tried a new install, with the same result as soon as the plugin was activated.

My server is using PHP 5.3.

Can you please re-upload the previous version (2.02) until you are able to fix this problem? Thanks.

I posted on the plugin website the same issue. I have SyncWPMember fatal error on line 220 and SyncBuddyPress fatal error on line 220.

Yep, hi everyone. This is some sort of path issue. Trying to find the time to fix it, but I’ll get it very soon. Trying to find somewhere where I can duplicate the problem (then it will be easy!). I suggest you go back to 2.02 until this is fixed (you’ll see a 2.11 release available…hopefully no more than 24 hours!).

Installed the 2.11 version and got the same response, it could not activate. Error message “
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /home/dxrick/dxfoundation.org/wp-content/plugins/autochimp/autochimp.php on line 842″

Can you post the 2.02 version within Word Press please? I need to get our main marketing too active again. Thank you.

Now I get this (with 2.11) when I try to visit the plugin’s settings tab:

Fatal error: Class ‘ContentVipersVideoQuicktags’ not found in /home/menscafe/public_html/wp-content/plugins/autochimp/autochimp-plugins.php on line 247

JohnMikal – you can download version 2.02 from the plugin’s developer tab. As I understand it, the newer version (when fixed), will only run on PHP 5.3 or higher.

    Hi Matt

Thanks for the lead on the developer’s tab. I am relatively new to web work and have never done a manual install of a plug in before. I suspect it would take me a few hours to learn the process, download the FTP software, etc. If that’s what I have to do, so be it, but I am hoping it is a very little thing for Wanderer to repost the old version (assuming 2 version of a plugin can be listed simultaneously on WordPress.)

No, you don’t need any FTP stuff. All you need to do is download the zip file for the version you want to use. Then when you go to Plugins > Add New, you click on the Upload link at the top. You then upload the file you just downloaded. Be sure to delete the broken one first.

    Thanks Matt

And for those of us who can’t upgrade to PHP 5.3.x? I need the functionality of being able to include custom post types, but my server is running 5.2.17 – any workarounds, hacks or alternatives?

Hmm, if you absolutely need the new version, but CAN’T upgrade your PHP, then that will be a problem. The PHP upgrade is needed because the code has been revised to use more modern features of the language (which will make writing extensions/improvements much easier). To change that is far beyond a hack. So, you must either find a way to upgrade or stick with 2.02. Sorry!

Do we know for sure that version 2.12 isn’t creating any of the problems that 2.10 and 2.11 did? I would love to hear from anyone who has installed 2.12.

I’ve updated to the 2.12 and there hasn’t been any fatal errors on my site since then. Then again, I haven’t had to use this plugin with any subscribers since the upgrade…which is the least of my worries as long as my site isn’t down.

The problem here is a PHP upgrade issue for sure. No doubts.

EDIT: Discovered that my host allows me to change the PHP version to 5.4 in the control panel. The support person I was working with apparently had no idea this was possible. SMH….

Plugin activated just fine after that. ??

Where do you update PHP or find out what version I have??
