    I just updated my wordpress multisite network to the latest version (4.9.1), and I also updated the Yoast SEO plugin to the latest version (5.8), but it has been disabled due to a fatal error.

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class 'ComposerAutoloaderInitbc42a58bc348cc5d6aeb1496135741cb' not found in F:\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-seo\vendor\autoload_52.php:7 Stack trace: #0 F:\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-seo\wp-seo-main.php(54): require() #1 F:\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-seo\wp-seo.php(47): require_once('F:\\....') #2 F:\wp-admin\includes\plugin.php(1897): include('F:\\....') #3 F:\wp-admin\plugins.php(172): plugin_sandbox_scrape('wordpress-seo/w...') #4 {main} thrown in F:\wp-content\plugins\wordpress-seo\vendor\autoload_52.php on line 7

    I’ve removed the plugin completely and I’ve installed it manually. It installs well, but it does not allow me to activate it because it causes the same error.

    Thanks in adv,

  • Question: What version are you using?

    1. Try removing it completely from inside the WordPress admin, and then reinstalling from your WordPress admin.

    2. If #1 doesn’t work, then you may want to look into clearing the cache on your web server. If you can’t, you might need to contact your web host to help you do that.

    1. Try removing directly from the WordPress admin, and then reinstalling through the WordPress admin.

    2. Try the suggestion in – https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/5515

    3. If #1 or #2 don’t work, clear your cache on your web server. If you don’t know how to, then you will need to contact your web host to help you.

    4. If #3 doesn’t work, download a completely fresh copy of Yoast SEO, and manually re-install.
