    Hello,

I received a notice that my Jetpack plugin needed to be updated. After the new version downloaded, the plugin was deactivated (and Jetpack tab in dashboard disappeared. I went to my plugin screen and selected activate and here is the message I received:

“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Warning: require_once(/home/hhkids/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/hhkids/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 37

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/hhkids/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/hhkids/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/jetpack.php on line 37″

    Please help…Thank you!

    Howdy,

In this case, your server failed at some point during the upgrade process. The best bet is to access your site via FTP or your hosting company’s control panel’s file manager, and delete the /wp-content/plugins/jetpack folder, then reinstall Jetpack via your WordPress Dashboard (Plugins->Add New).

If you’re now sure how to access your site via FTP or if your hosting provider provides a file manager, please contact your host’s support. They’ll be able to direct you on how to access your site that way.

    Cheers!
