Fatal Error after updating plugin

  • After uploading to newer wordpress which went Ok. Itried to update the plugins as suggested. I lost the control to my site because contact-form-7 plugin would not delete to install new one.

    When I tried my site I received mesg:

    Warning: require_once(/home4/web7day/public_html/adoptoursoldier.com/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home4/web7day/public_html/adoptoursoldier.com/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/settings.php on line 3

    Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home4/web7day/public_html/adoptoursoldier.com/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/functions.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php54/lib/php’) in /home4/web7day/public_html/adoptoursoldier.com/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/settings.php on line 3

    I then noticed thru PHP that all the folders were empty, so I took another sites contact-7-form and uploaded to this site, but came back with different error:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare wpcf7_load_modules() (previously declared in /home4/web7day/public_html/adoptoursoldier.com/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/settings.php:29) in /home4/web7day/public_html/adoptoursoldier.com/wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/includes/functions.php on line 290

    What can I do I cannot get into wordpress because of fatal error…site is

    Probably the install was incomplete for some reason. Try accessing the host via SSH or FTP to delete the contact-form-7 directory manually. Then install the latest version again.

    Thanks for your input. The contact form 7 has been on the website for soem time now it wasn’t recently installed. I tried to update the plugin as suggested by WordPress that there is a new version, but it showed unable to delete the original and was incomplete. I also tried to delete the folder for contact 7, but it would not allow me…I don’t know what the message was, but I;ll try again and see. I can’t load into WordPress since the message of the fatal err comes up.

    How can I get it off and redo all my forms if I have to?
