Fatal Error after update to 5.0.8

    Error thrown
    Call to undefined method ShortPixel\Model\Image\CustomImageModel::getWPMetaData()

    Added 20 images to a NextGen gallery and this error is thrown when I try to advance the page when managing the gallery in NextGen. It does not happen on other galleries that I have not added additional images to under 5.0.8

    Also if I try to change the default (50) images per page shown in the gallery, the same error is thrown.

    I tried to reproduce the issue, but on my side it’s working well. Could you please send us the following information?

    • Some screenshots showing the issue would be helpful, including relevant links, but a screen recording is always better.
    • Your site information. For this, please go to Tools > Site Health > Info, click on the “Copy site info to clipboard” button and paste the information here.
      Screenshots of your ShortPixel plugin settings.
    • Finally, is the issue occurring in more than one web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc.)?

    This error does not occur on galleries “untouched” by 5.0.8.
    The same error occurs on EDGE also.

    Hi @badknees,

    Thanks for the information.

    The only reason we can figure for this is that you have an image in a NextGEN Gallery with the same ID as one in the Media Library, which is blocked for optimization due to the error, and maybe it wasn’t converted properly. We will patch this for the next version, but in the meantime, I would suggest trying to resolve the issue in the Media Library. Perhaps by reuploading the affected images (so they get a different ID)?

    Do you have any suggestions in the best way to find the image ID in nextgen. I know how to find it in WP library.

    I think I’ve narrowed it down a bit. The problem seems to be the second page of a specific gallery. Would an underscore at the beginning of a file name cause this? Or a dash in the file name?

    What would be the best way to delete and re upload these? I can’t get to the page to edit it or delete. I tried deleting on the server but I suspect the database needs to be edited also?

    Hi @badknees,

    I guess the NextGEN team would be the ones to answer this, but maybe you can simply deactivate ShortPixel temporarily so the error doesn’t show up? And then start from scratch: remove the gallery, reupload the files and recreate the gallery. And finally reactivate ShortPixel.

    I couldn’t find the reason why, but two images (out of 252) were causing the problem. I displayed 25 images at a time until I found the offending batch and then narrowed down to the two files. Deleting those files and reloading them did not fix the problem. Deleting just the the two and appending the file name (xxxx.jpg-2) and then uploading fixed the problem. All is well.
