Same here, my site broke after the update. I’m investigating the issue

-First disable the Headers and Footers plugin. If you don’t have access to your WP site anymore because of the Error, you go to the Plugins folder on your hosting (WP content > plugins) and rename the plugin Elementor Headers & Footers. This should give you your access to WP back.
-Next, install the plugin WP Rollback.
-Next, make sure the Headers and Footers plugin is deactivated. Probably it is.
-Rename the folder of the plugin to its original name.
-Refresh the plugin page in WP
-Click on Rollback on the Headers and Footers plugin, choose earlier version. And Roll back.
-Activate Headers and Footers plugin. But DO NOT UPDATE. I tried; it will crash your site again!

Hope this helps you out for now.

My website crashed too. Solution: replace/rollback with this version: header-footer-elementor.1.6.28 then wait for another update. Test on the staging site before you update the main website.

Thank you for your helpful advice to rename the plugin and revert to the previous version of the Header-Footer plugin.

@ammo69 Thanks so much for this. My host was too slow to respond so I figured out how to rename the plugin in my php. Just wondered what happens if I leave it renamed and disabled? When a new update becomes available, will it be replaced or do I have to continue with the next steps to roll back.

@ammo69 I was lucky to find your post. I was shocked this morning about the received e-mail about the crash of my site. Now I disabled the automatic upgrade for the header-footer-elementor, installed a child theme and made a copy via the duplicator plugin – everything shoud be good now. Or do I still miss something? My wordpress simply sent me an email with a recovery link. After Clicking on it, I could install WP rollback and roll back the broken version. That solved it temporarily.

@johannes-schenk, I think you did a good job. Auto update are the worst.
@httpscore, normally I do too, but today, I did the update manually (not on a staging site) and I never got the email.
