Fatal Error after update

Hi,

We haven’t been able to reproduce this issue yet.

Would you be able to provide some more information:

1) how did you update the plugin (did you use a plugin, cli, the gui, etc..)

2) if the firewall is setup or not

3) php version and web server information

I updated the plugin on the plugin page of my WordPress dashboard. I also updated the plugin on 4 other sites and had no problem.

The firewall was set up before the update.

Also can you tell me what is at the top of your wp-config.php file in the AIOS section?

E.g whats between:

I woke up to the same error this morning on three of my websites. The rest were fine. I deactivated the AIOS plugin, and it had no effect on the error.

After further troubleshooting, it turned out to be an issue with the WordPress 6.3 update that came down the pipe yesterday. I downloaded the core files from www.remarpro.com and overwrote my existing WordPress 6.3 files. That fixed all three sites with this error.

After logging into wp-admin, I got a message on the three sites with an issue that there was a database update required. Had to apply that update, then I was able to get into admin.

Then it gave me a message about the auto-update failing. I followed that link and since I was already at the current version, selected reinstall WordPress to get rid of that message. All is good now.

Thanks for providing all this information it was very useful.

I believe we have narrowed down the issue and we are currently testing a fix.

Can you check if in your uploads folder (wp-content/uploads) you have the “aios” folder and inside that “firewall-rules”

They may have got created for you when you got the fatal error.

If not can you create both of them so the full path would be:

“wp-content/uploads/aios/firewall-rules”

With them folders there update 5.2.2 should work for you.

I can also send a pre release copy of the plugin for you when it’s ready.

Hi, aporter no need to asked someone unnecessarily questions the version 5.2.2 is causing a lot of problem and on my own website it didn’t allowed me to install it again it says (fatal error)

I’m having this issue too, but only where I’ve updated to WP 6.3. I’ll eagerly await the update to this plugin before updating any more of my sites.

I believe we have tracked down the issue, a copy of the plugin with the fix is here:

If the above copy does resolve the issue for you then for some reason on the sites where it doesn’t work the “aios/firewall-rules” folders did not exist in your uploads directory and that causes the firewall to fail to load.

In our test installs the folders do get created before the fatal error happens (so these may now exist for you).
