Are you still facing this issue? Can you tell me which version of WordPress you are using? When you got this error?

    Sorry, I missed your reply.

I’m checking with my client, but have not yet heard back from them.

Always running the most current version of WP – currently at Version 4.5.3

It was working, and just recently stopped working from them. Not sure what it is. They are getting the same error. I’m not seeing the error.

They are currently running the most recent version of WordPress, and all plugins are up-to-date.

Does the error provided indicate anything specifically?

I have tested the plugin in many different ways but can replicate the error.

But I have made some modification in the plugin. Please download the plugin again. Do let me know your findings.

    Thank you.

    Same issue is happening.

    From my client…

We have just found that when it happens (in Chrome) if we click back to the sign in boxes and add 1 character in the password, then delete that character, it lets us in. No idea what that means but its worked on consecutive tries now.

Additional information… From the server logs:

[06-Jun-2016 22:25:10 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_error_codes() on a non-object in /home/happycat/public_html/wp-content/plugins/login-sidebar-widget/security.php on line 43

The above was the first reference to the error. Most recently today:

[05-Jul-2016 19:11:22 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_error_codes() on a non-object in /home/happycat/public_html/wp-content/plugins/login-sidebar-widget/security.php on line 43

There are more than 40 references to the same error in the log.

Also, they state it happens about 50% of the time.

    Update.
Can you check to see if there might be a conflict between WPS Hide Login and your Login Widget With Shortcode plugin?

I just deactivated WPS Hide Login, as I just learned the client was not having an issue logging in using your login widget, rather he was having the error when he was trying to log in to the “hidden” page to log in to admin section. (Normally at /wp-admin/ but WPS Hide Login changes that.)

This plugin is not compatible with WPS Hide Login plugin. WPS Hide Login plugin alters the GLOBAL variables defined by WordPress.
