• I updated a few pages on our website tonight (www.stroodunitedfc.co.uk) and completed this with relative ease. I then noted some updates that needed performing. I completed the updates, went back and signed in, the whole layout of the home page had changed, with no short cuts on the left and the main page all in one column. I then went in and ran the updates, now I am presented with the following error when I try to go to the wesbite:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /mounted-storage/home66c/sub003/sc39748-NVXS/stroodunitedfc.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/functions.php on line 421
I’m a bit of a novice with these things, can anyone help please!!!

  • Since this has happened after updating. Deactivate all your plugins, see if this fixes your problem.

If it does, activate each plugin one and at time, should find out which ones giving you an issue.

If not, your theme may not be compatible with the latest wordpress?

Not sure what you were doing.. but the error is being generated by the buddypress plugin.

You will need to use FTP or your hosts CPanel to access your file directories.

Navigate to wp-content/plugins and look for the buddypress folder.

Rename this folder to something like buddypress-problem.

You should now be able to access your website and admin panel.

Follow up with the plugin author to find out what’s going on.
