Fatal error after changing blog address from WordPress URL

  • I just went through the installation process fairly easily but wanted to change the Blog address (in the admin’s “Options” menu) to my main domain name. I changed the index.php file and uploaded it but I’m getting this error message when I log in:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_header() in /homepages/6/d218508458/htdocs/index.php on line 1

  • What exactly did you change in index.php? You don’t need to edit the index.php to change the blog address, just set it up in the options. Or perhaps you wanted to install WP in a sub-directory? Maybe try running /wp-admin/install.php again.
