• Hi There

    Hope someone can help!

I was updating my all in one seo plugin then received this message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_post_types() in /home/[censored for security]/public_html/justabouteverythingyoucanthinkofblog/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/all_in_one_seo_pack.php on line 727

Now i can not access the admin of the site
    Externally the site is functioning
I have more sites on the server and they are no problem at all it is just this site.

    All the best

    Kevin

  • Disable the plugin in FTP by renaming the /all-in-one-seo-pack/ folder to something else.

    Then try logging in.

If it works then try updating again. If you get same results then try updating manually.

    Thanks for that wpbum

I deleted the pack in ftp and was able to gain access to admin

uploaded the seo pack again but same prob if i try to upgrade automatically.

Using the pluging without upgrading at the moment.

Forgive my ignorance but how do you upgrade manually

    Thanks again

    Kevin

I have excatly the same error. Diasbling the old version and manually installing the new one didn’t solve the problem.

When I try to activate the new version maually, I get this error:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Warning: require_once(/home/Myhomefolder/www/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/aioseop.class.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/Myhomefolder/www/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack-old/all_in_one_seo_pack.php on line 488

    Any ideas how fix that?

    thank you

and if I change “all-in-one-seo-pack-old” back to “all-in-one-seo-pack” I just get the same error as in the first post of this thread, i.e.:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_post_types() in /home/Myhomefolder/www/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack-old/all_in_one_seo_pack.php on line 727

    Summary: manual installation does help.
    Wp version: 2.7

    Thanks for the help wp

    Kevin

    Problem solved.

Go to back to the previous version 1.6.11 and never ever Upgrade to 1.6.12, it’s either dodgy or there is a compatibility issue with older versions of WP.

    To go back –

    1. delete the new version of the plugin via FTP
    2. Then copy old version of plugin (if you have it) to wp-content/plugins/
    3. Activate 1.6.11

    Good luck

I had this same issue this morning on one of my sites running WP 2.8

    After monkeying around with uninstalling and a manual install, I debated whether to try to dig up the All In One SEO v1.6.11 but figured it wasn’t worth it. Instead, I took a backup of the site, did a auto-upgrade to WP 3.0 and then reinstalled All In One SEO v.1.6.12 which solved the issue. My site theme is pretty clean code, so I wasn’t too worried but unfortunately, my approach wasn’t without a few glitches;

    1. Auto upgrade to WP 3.0 threw a memory limit error

    2. To correct the error, I changed the PHP setting from 32M to to 64M using GDPress Lite plugin.

The memory limit is a bit of a risk because the site is sitting on a shared host, so I’ll just keep an eye on performance. webpagetest.org is a nice little tool if you haven’t used it.

*sigh* Love WordPress but these types of situations are just irritating.

Hope y’al get things fixed up.

    All,

I am a novice here! Installed the Yost Google Analytics PlugIn, it worked fine, so, i got bolder and installed the Yost SEO plugin, and it bombed.

I am now not able to access my WP site. We host with 1and1.com, and i am not able to figure out how to ‘delete the plug-in’ via FTP.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Was able to fix it!

Enough research, patience and trial and error does help!

    Thanks!
