I am unable to run Site Kit on my site after updating it to version 1.49.1 because it throws a fatal error on my site.

`This plugin failed to load properly and is paused during recovery mode.

    Thanks for reaching out @francehopper.

Have you tried to delete the plugin and install once more, from the WordPress plugin repository? If not please do so. There is no need to deactivate the plugin before doing so.

In the meantime please allow me some time to setup the same environment as your own before checking the same update on my side using the same WordPress release and PHP version.

    Howdy, James.

That initially failed, but I’ve tried again with a deletion of the folder for the plugin over FTP (rather than through WordPress) and re-installed it by uploading the .zip file. Seems to be working again now.
    Sorry about that.

@francehopper Glad to hear it, many thanks for the update. Using the same PHP version and WordPress RC version I did encounter the same however in my case downgrading PHP allowed me to update the plugin version. Thanks for pointing this out!

While we’ll continue testing this on our side if you run into any further issues be sure to reach out.
