    when I’m trying to see one of my blog posts I get a PHP fatal error: ?Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function mb_strtoupper() in /home/roaolam/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/generators/schema/article.php:225

    Its only on one of my posts. I turned off Yoast Seo, and than I managed to see my post, but I cant leave my website without Yoast.

    Hello @roaolam2222 I’m sorry about the fatal error you experienced.

    Can you access the backend of the website as I see the frontend isn’t accessible? If yes, please remove the Yoast SEO plugin folder via FTP. Your Web hosting provider can provide you with FTP access.

    Next, can you please confirm that your server meets the plugin requirements mentioned in https://yoast.com/help/plugin-requirements/

    The fatal error is only on one post in my website, all the others are ok. I don’t want to remove Yoast Seo, it is very important to my site, but I would like to fix the error in the specific post. Is it possible? I also confirm the my server meets the plugin requirements.

    @roaolam2222 Thanks for your reply.

    Regarding removing and reinstalling the plugin, this won’t cause you to lose any of the data or settings you created with the plugin as those are stored separately of the plugin files in your site’s database.

    As for the error itself, this issue typically occurs when the plugin installation or update couldn’t complete correctly. The fatal error is telling you that the plugin couldn’t find one of the core plugin files. Can you please try removing the plugin directly from your site and then reinstall it?

    I’m having a similar issue, with Yoast SEO enabled, the articles are not being edited or rendered with elementor.

    Problem solved! It was necessary to enable mbstring in php on the hosting.
