• Last week I attempted to update my WordPress site – I had to update wordpress, update my plug ins, and then update my theme (Activello). When I updated the theme, the site crashed and now I am locked out of my dashboard. I know NOTHING about troubleshooting or codes or how to fix.

Fatal error: Call to undefined method stdClass::reset_postdata() in /home/customer/www/mymesstohismasterpiece.com/public_html/wp-includes/query.php on line 130

The above is what comes up when I try to access my site.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • The fatal error is telling us a core part of WordPress is missing. This is likely something drastic went wrong during update, like filling the disc.

I very much hope you have a backup ( as advised before updating ) because the best thing is restore the backup.

Thank you! How would I restore the back up?

This will depend one how your WordPress site is hosted. The best thing to do would be to contact the support service of the company that you pay to host your website and they should be able to advise you on how to restore a backup of the site.
