the latest version of the plugin triggers a fatal error ‘Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.’

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘->’ (T_OBJECT_OPERATOR) in /home/mydis139/eighteenpointfive.com.au/wp-content/plugins/wp-table-builder/inc/admin/managers/version-control-manager.php on line 90

I’ve tweeted the issue to the developer a few hours ago

    – Plugin version 1.2.9
    – WordPress version 5.5.1
    – Browser type Chrome 84.0.4147.125 (Official Build) (64-bit)
    – Operating system MacOS Catalina 10.16.6
    – Live url https://eighteenpointfive.com.au/team/ (the latest update seems to have caused the fatal error, and I cannot display tables)

    @jadly,

I’m really sorry to hear that.

Can you please rollback to previous version while we work on it?

If your dashboard is loading, you can use the Version Control in Settings page to go back to previous version.

Or you can do it any other way that suits you.

I apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused you.

    Regards.

    Hello @jadly,

Can you please share which PHP version your server is using?

    Best regards.

I apologise for not sharing before… since the abend I updated PHP.

It is now 7.4.10… before it was below 7.

I’ve turned off the auto updating of tables, but I may try updating the plugin and see what happens now…. and its all OK.

I’ve turned on the auto update of plugins.

And learnt a lesson about keeping PHP updated.

I’ve now loaded the latest version of your plugin, and all ok. It was the old PHP version. I apologise for not keeping PHP up to date.
